Cancellation Policy

In the event that our guests are unable to attend due to circumstances beyond their control, such as national strikes, pandemics, or other major limitations, we understand the need for flexibility. In such cases, we are happy to offer a full refund of the payment, with a deduction of US $60 for administration fees. We appreciate your understanding of our policy as we strive to manage unforeseen challenges effectively.

All payments for retreats and programs are non refundable. We require a 50% deposit to book your retreat and 50% two weeks before the arrival date. All retreats have to be fully paid before arrival.

We do not offer refunds or compensation for any missed days if you opt for an early departure from your retreat or choose not to partake in any of the included services, such as meals, yoga/meditation classes, tours, or private sessions with our thanatologist.

Retreat Guidelines

Once your retreat is confirmed, you will receive our confirmation letter with detailed information about how to reach us, what to bring, update about weather and other imporant news.

The use of drugs or plant medicines is strictly prohibited in all our retreats and programs.

Kindly ensure the space remains as you found it, and please replace any items that may have been broken or damaged during your stay.

Maintain a friendly and respectful attitude towards our staff, teachers, and neighbors.

General Information

Where are Lake Atitlán Retreats located?
Our retreats and accommodations are located in Tzununá, Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, between San Marcos La Laguna and Jaibalito, surrounded by nature, forest, and the lake.

How do I get there?
You can arrive by road or by boat (lancha). Most guests travel from Guatemala City or Antigua to Panajachel or directly to Tzununá, then continue by public or private boat. Detailed arrival instructions are sent after booking.

Is the property accessible by car?
Yes, but there is no parking directly on the property. Secure parking is available nearby for an additional nightly fee.


Arrival & Transportation

Do I need to notify someone about my arrival time?
Yes. Please contact our local manager before arrival so we can help coordinate your arrival and welcome you smoothly.

How long does it take to reach Lake Atitlán from the airport or Antigua?
Travel time is typically 3–5 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

Can you help arrange transportation?
Yes, we can help arrange shared shuttles or private transportation upon request. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance.

Are public boats reliable?
Public boats run frequently during the day, approximately every 20–30 minutes, but schedules can vary. Private boats are available if you arrive late or need direct transport.


Accommodation & Amenities

Is Wi‑Fi available?
Yes, Wi‑Fi is available. Please note that internet speeds around the lake can vary due to weather and location.

Is there staff on-site?
Yes. A space holder is present most of the time, and our local manager lives nearby and is available if needed.

Is there a safe for valuables?
Yes, accommodations include a secure place to store valuables.


Food & Supplies

Are meals included?
Yes, Meal plans vary by retreat and program. Wellness retreats include 3 daily meals, while our Cultural Immersion Program offers optional or nearby dining experiences. Please check your specific retreat details.

Are there supermarkets or ATMs nearby?
There are no supermarkets or ATMs in Tzununá. We strongly recommend bringing enough cash with you. Panajachel has several supermarkets and ATMs.

Are there restaurants nearby?
Yes, there are several restaurants within walking distance offering vegetarian, vegan, and local cuisine.


Wellness & Retreat Experience

What types of retreats do you offer?
We offer wellness retreats focused on mindfulness, meditation, yoga, holistic healing.

And Cultural immersion. Some programs are ideal for individuals, couples, or families.

Do you offer private sessions?
Yes. One‑on‑one yoga, meditation, sound healing, and personalized tanathology sessions are available.

Do you offer emotional support services?
Yes. Certified thanatology and end‑of‑life emotional support services are available as part of certain programs or by private request.


Activities & Nature

Can I swim in the lake?
Yes, swimming is possible year‑round. We recommend swimming near the shore or dock and avoiding swimming after dark.

Are there hiking trails nearby?
Yes. There are beautiful public hiking trails connecting Tzununá with Jaibalito, Santa Cruz, and surrounding areas. Guided hikes are recommended on certain days.

Are kayaks or paddleboards available?
Yes, rentals are available nearby through local providers.


Safety & Health

Is the area safe?
The area is generally safe and quiet. As in any rural destination, we recommend basic precautions, avoiding isolated hikes alone, and not carrying large amounts of cash.

What about insects or wildlife?
Being in a natural setting, you may encounter insects or small wildlife. These are generally harmless, and we provide guidance on how to coexist comfortably.

What happens in case of a medical emergency?
We can help organize emergency transport by boat to Panajachel, where medical clinics and ambulance services are available.

What should I bring?
Comfortable clothing, layers for evenings, walking shoes, swimwear, insect repellent, sunscreen, a flashlight, and sufficient cash.
